Municipal Offices Open for Election: Get Ready to Run!

Emigration Canyon residents, it's that time again! The upcoming municipal election will be held in November 2025, and we are now accepting candidates for the following positions:

• Mayor – At Large (Four-year term)

• One (1) Council Member – At Large (Four-year term)

• 
  

If you're interested in running for one of these positions, here are the key details:

Filing Dates for Declaration of Candidacy:

• June 1 - June 7, 2025

  
  

Qualifications to Run for Office

• Be a United States citizen at the time of filing

• Be a registered voter of the municipality

• Be a resident in the city or town for 12 consecutive months prior to the election.

• Not be a convicted felon unless the right to hold elective office has been restored.

  
  

2025 Candidate Filing Period

• Candidates may declare their candidacy at the office of the clerk/recorder at the Greater Salt Lake Municipal Services District, 860 W. LeVoy Drive, Suite 300, Taylorsville, Utah 84123

• Filing dates: June 2 to June 6,  2025.

• Office hours: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

The Primary Election is scheduled for August 12, 2025.

The General Election is November 4, 2025.
